The museums are pretty amazing. We visited the National Museum of African American History (opened in 2016) and it was so much more thoughtfully designed and engaging than some of the older Smithsonians. The older museums are in real need of modernization. It would be so much fun to take a child to that city. My nephew is going on a class trip there next year.
When you have such a long history with a friend you become like family. That part of life isn't valued enough, especially with most males. We plan on one more trip for me to DC next year then possibly Philadelphia in 2028. I want to book a tour at the Spy museum for next year. It looked very interesting!

Can't resist showing this picture: I'm with my granddaughter at the Smithsonian in 2014. She is 21 now, so she must have been 9 then, and I was a spry 67. Note the black hair...we don't go grey in my family. Everything else false apart on schedule :).
