You say 'I am planning on trying to grow them next year'.. well, I've grown them in No. Dakota (VERY Short Growing Season) - and have gotten a smallish crop.
Still, is better to do & have some organic peas than not to. Nice pics, btw ☻
They sell freeze dried peas where I live and they are pretty tasty. I've never had fresh ones though. Good luck growing them. That'll be a fun project to have.
In the early days of freezers we could go to " pick your own" pea growers, take half a dozen pillowcases to put the crop in. Take 4 kids to help. We would pay by tne weight so a lot got podded in the field. A cole of growers had a strawberry patch next to the peas, so would be able to try strange sweet red peas.. then a couple of nights sitting in a cirgle in the front room podding all the ones we had bought. At least it put the kids off pease for a couple of weeks, by which time we would be at another place picking more.
Love them too, but haven't had any fresh from the garden ones in years! Better start growing them :) Good job friend!

Peas are actually a good source of Vitamin K and so many dietary fibres, So it would be highly benefical for health as well as it's fun too :)

We used to do the same, apples, strawberrys and my fathers pea pods without him knowing heehee
You are sposed to whistle while you pod. Have a go, you can't pinch and whistle at the same time. Have a go.
