RE: Cycling Down the Baja - Taking a Break from Taking a Break

Hahaha, those "fairy tale cob houses" are the actual buildings they want to have on their property. Ideally, eventually, they will be for individuals and/or families who want to live there long-term, and contribute to the work and social life of the ranch. However, they are still not completed yet. You can see, on the outside they are plastered nicely, but inside the floor and the walls still need to be done. And so far there are only two of them, plus the one for themselves.

Their first step, a few years ago, was to arrive in that camper, which they built the palapa (palm-thatched roof) around. Eventually that will become the center social area (and the van will probably disappear eventually). But even now you are welcome to come and volunteer and live in those "fairy tale cob houses". Not sure if you'd want to rent them just for holiday fun. I think that would not work out well, either for them, or for you. Though the diving town is only about 5 kms away, so visiting is always possible.

Love the idea of self-sustainable "social" farm... Not sure if something like that will ever be possible to do in Europe...
and their way of building is exactly how I would approach it... Buy a piece of land, bring a camper, build it up, add a few small buildings, scale up, etc. Love it!
