There’s something special about finding places that haven’t been changed by crowds or commercial businesses. In these spots, nature feels alive, the air is cleaner, and every step brings a sense of excitement. One of these hidden gems is Tekis Falls, found in Sitio Tekis, Barangay Buhawen, San Marcelino, Zambales. It’s a beautiful and enchanting place.

Our trip to Tekis Falls turned out to be more than just an adventure. It was an unforgettable experience full of excitement, a deeper appreciation for nature, and a reminder of how lucky our province is to have such beautiful places hidden in the mountains.
We started our trip early in the morning, feeling excited. Even on the way to Barangay Buhawen, we could already see hints of the beauty ahead. The area is surrounded by mountains, tall trees, rivers, and fresh air, which made us feel calm right away.

Barangay Buhawen is known for its natural beauty and mountain views in San Marcelino, a landlocked town in southern Zambales.
As we got closer to Sitio Tekis, the road became rougher and more challenging. Some parts were rocky and muddy, especially after it rained. But these challenges made the trip even more exciting. Often, the best places take some effort to reach.

One of the best parts of our trip was crossing small streams and walking along forest trails. The sound of water and birds made everything feel peaceful and helped us relax. Tall trees gave us shade, and a cool breeze brushed against our skin. It really felt like nature was welcoming us.

After a long yet fulfilling trek, we finally heard the loud sound of rushing water in the distance. With each step, our excitement grew until we finally saw Tekis Falls right in front of us.lls stood gracefully amid lush greenery, its crystal-clear water continuously flowing over the rocks into a refreshing basin below. The falls' natural beauty was mesmerizing. The water looked so pure and inviting, while the surrounding rocks and forest completed the picture of a hidden paradise.

For a while, we just stood quietly, taking in the beauty around us. In our busy and stressful lives, places like Tekis Falls remind us to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with nature. Its peacefulness brought us comfort.

We couldn’t resist jumping into the cold, refreshing water. As soon as it touched our skin, all our tiredness from the hike was gone. It felt relaxing and satisfying. Laughing together, taking photos, and enjoying the moment made the trip even more special.

Tekis Falls is even more special because it has stayed untouched. Unlike busy tourist spots, it’s simple, peaceful, and natural. There are no loud noises, big crowds, or distractions—just the pure beauty of nature all around.

Aside from its beauty, the trip taught us important lessons. Visiting hidden places like Sitio Tekis reminds us why we need to protect and take care of nature. These natural wonders are gifts, and we should look after them so future generations can enjoy them too. We learned to appreciate the simple joys in life. Sometimes, happiness can be found not in expensive things but in moments spent with nature, meaningful conversations with companions, and adventures that create unforgettable memories.

The people in the nearby communities are lucky to live close to such beautiful natural places. Barangay Buhawen, one of San Marcelino’s inland areas, is known for its mountains, forests, and rich natural surroundings shaped by the province’s land and history. Their bond with nature is something to admire. The venture came to an end, and we left Sitio Tekis carrying not only beautiful photographs but also beautiful memories in our hearts.

Tekis Falls may be considered a hidden gem, but for those willing to explore and embrace adventure, it offers a priceless experience of peace, beauty, and wonder.

Indeed, Tekis Falls is more than just a destination. It's Falls is more than just a place to visit. It reminds us that the most beautiful spots are often hidden away from the busy world, waiting for those who truly appreciate adventure and nature. Brgy. Buhawen, San Marcelino, Zambales, was truly one of the most unforgettable adventures I have ever experienced.
