Travel Journal: San Sebastián (Spain) – Food capital of the world! (Part 1)

From Biarritz, it was finally only about 50 kilometers to San Sebastián. We stayed there for the next three days in an Airbnb located right in the heart of the Old Town.

The accommodation was exactly as described, and its fantastic location made it the perfect place to stay. We would definitely book a room there again.

On our first evening, we went pincho hopping! A pincho is a small dish typically enjoyed with a drink in bars and taverns. It is somewhat similar to tapas, although you should never call them tapas. I believe the locals would immediately chase you out of town if you did!

After that, we headed straight to bed. All the driving and walking around is truly exhausting. The next day, after sleeping in, we had lunch at Ganbara. The restaurant became famous after Anthony Bourdain ate there and spoke highly of it on television. We were impressed as well, although it was slightly more expensive than what you would normally expect in Spain. Their famous mushroom dish, in particular, was an absolute delight.
