When I was still working in Manila, Starmall EDSA-Shaw was my go-to spot. It wasn’t the biggest or the most glamorous mall in the city, but it had something that resonated with me: simplicity, accessibility, and affordability. Located right at the busy intersection of EDSA and Shaw Boulevard, this mall has always been a convenient stop for commuters, employees, and residents nearby.

Recently, I revisited Starmall, and the nostalgia hit me instantly. Walking through its corridors reminded me of countless lunch breaks, quick errands, and even those moments when I’d just wander around to clear my head after a long day at work. It’s not just a mall; it’s a backdrop to many personal stories.

This time around, I noticed that the mall has fewer stores open compared to before. Some shops are under renovation, and there aren’t as many mall-goers as I used to see. The atmosphere felt quieter, almost subdued, but in a way, it gave me space to appreciate the little things.
