they really have and I wonder if any of that is related to the US relationship that occurred after the you know what. In Thailand power outages were a very regular thing and you needed a water backup system because the water pressure was frequently very weak or not there at all. It was very common for people to keep a large garbage can in the bathroom filled with water and a scoop for those days where the water just isn't flowing.
In one particularly bad situation it was discovered that the water supply area whatever you call that, was intentionally switching the pipeline off to a popular tourist area because one of the higher ups had a friend who owned a water delivery company and they would make tons of money delivering water to hotels. I would like to say that upon discovery that this man went to jail but this is Thailand,... rich people don't get in real trouble.
That is so sad that Thailand seems so backward. I would like to visit Vietnam some day. My father in law is a war vet and would like to take him back there to visit now to see it, but pretty sure he wouldn't go.
