It was one of the craziest week I've spent with my family at the Putrajaya. Since the extended in law family is back from the US, we decided to stay in a hotel all together.

One of the major challenge staying in Hotel Double Tree by Hilton in Putrajaya is, the hotel situated at precinct 6, which is totally out of the way of malls nor residential area(except hotels). Therefore, other than offices and canteens, it's hard to find a proper food channel in that area. We have decided to take a long drive to Sepang, that's the edge of Putrajaya and getting very near to the airport region for a quick dinner with the family.

Braised pork belly came first as this is probably one of the bestest dish from this restaurant. Pork belly is properly marinated, it was braised until the fat tissue started to melt. It came with a special bun, I believe they have infused black sesame to enhance the flavor.

We also order a vegetarian dish where the cook uses branches to twist and tied into knots and deep-fry them. The texture is slightly chewy and it has a dash of "mushroom" freshness other than it's original soy taste. Absolute marvelous vege dish.

Followed by a bowl of herbal soup. According to the floor manager introduction, this soup helps in to boost energy. Hmmm... We're staying in a hotel, we have a nice sweet and luxury king bed... Hmmm... Boost energy yo. What am I thinking 🤣 anyway, it you're ok with chicken feet, the soup taste a little savory, and a dash of sweetness from the gouji berries.

We also ordered two big bowls of "fragrant rice". This is the type of traditional rice bowl Chinese does, when we don't have time to make a perfect dinner, we will pour everything into a clay pot, boil a bowl of rice together with all the herbs and protein into the whole pot, so everything cooked in one pot. It's not something special, but it totally brought back memories from my 80s.

Before I can take a proper photo of the braised chicken cube rice, the kids already flip everything over and started eating from it. I took a few bites and thought it was ok. Chicken is soft and the rice a little sticky to my liking. It's ok as long the kids ok with it

My bro in law is a way more healthier guy than the rest of us, he also picked the next meatless dish, stir fry mixed vegetables and mushrooms. I'd like to highlight, their bell pepper are extremely fresh. I don't know how they did it, but the bell pepper taste exceptionally good, especially the surface tasted like caramel.

The next chicken soup, was a special one. According to the floor manager, this bowl of herbal soup are specially dosage for women who requires a magic potion at least once a month to replenish some "qi" 🤣 not quite suitable for guys, or will risk nose bleeding.

Anyway, my home minister decided she wanted another bite size dish for snack. So we have fried tofu. I believe this is not what a standard fried tofu should taste like. This seems like crushed and recombined tofu with extra ingredients. The crust is crunchy and the inner tofu is so soft. As if this is a Chinese style M&M 🤣
