Seems you got a particularly hardy drought resistant grass, probably a good thing XD I would love to roll out some more turf over here (chickens killed all our grass some years back) but I don't think any of us have the patience for that (watering in and avoiding it while it's settling etc and also I am already butting heads really hard with J over grass in general, all he desperately wants to do is pull up all the grass he sees immediately).
