My visit to Varanasi is incomplete untill I try the creamy milk from one of the oldest shop in the area. Varanasi is considered to be the heaven for street food. A person can find all kind of food and beverages on the bylanes of Varanasi. There were already many popular dishes that gone viral over rhe social media. But for me the creamy layer of simmered milk served in a mud pot called "kulhad" is the best things to have during any time of the day. This is Healthier as well as tastier option to try from the oldest shop in the lanes of Varanasi.

Milk is a complete meal in itself and having a sweet glass of it during evening is always a blessing. Like many Indian households, I have grown up drinking milk during evening hours. And whenever I take a trip down to Varanasi, I never gonna is never miss out on visiting the little shop. There are many shop that serves the kulhad milk, but this one is a vintage one that know the exact ratio of sweetness and warmness to serve to customer. Yesterday, on a short break at Varanasi, I was quick to visit the place in a rush. Just to have a glass of it.

Yesterday, while travelling to Delhi, I have a little layover at Varanasi railway station. My train was further delayed which gives me an oppurtunity to have a glass of milk. It was a welcome chance that I never gonna miss out. Once the train was delayed, I took on the battery operated rickshaw to reach the Gadowlia chowk (square). This is where the little shop is located right at the corner of the road.

It is a small shop, and I have seen the same guy running it on my every visit. It was familiar face for me, though he never recognize me, as he has to deal with multiple customer. It is a family business that has been running over the decades. The shop owner is proud to announce his legacy whosoever try to talk to him. The shop is too small to accommodate two individual. But the owner is happy to keep it like that. May be they have some luck going around with it. The shop has big iron utensil that keep the milk warm outside rhe shop. This shop operates only in evening. From 5PM till 11 PM or untill stock get finished.

To cater the needs of different customer, the shop sells other sweet dishes. They have creams and rabri. A popular sweat dish. I like to crave on them too but I avoided because they were too sweet. And I am avoiding sugar these days. But those dishes does looks tempting to any sweet lover. Especially the Indians, who knows the taste of it.

Without spending much time, as it was getting darker and I dont want to kept stranded in the lanes of Varanasi. I quickly grab my glass of milk. It cost me Rs.30/-. I requested the shop owner to add little Rabri to it and he happily obliged. But he like to charge for it so I gave another Rs.10/- for the topping. This is one of the delicious milk I could ever tried in my life.

Slow-simmered milk in earthen cups Adds a distinctive taste. This is tempting meal for me and I enjoy on my every visit. Even getting a little time I never want to miss out on it.
In good faith - Peace!!
