Exploring Johor Bahru in Malaysia

Hey everyone, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you have a weekend full of positive experiences! Today I took the time to write a blog about my experiences which I made while travelling and am happy if you can learn new things.

When I was in Singapore it was clear to me that I would like to make at least one day trip and due to the perfect location, more options came into question such as Indonesia or Malaysia for which I finally decided. Johor Bahru is a city which is only a few kilometres away from Singapore and also known for maintaining close relationships with each other when it comes to the economic situation and in general it can be said that JB is an important location for industry or economy. Anyone who plays with the idea of making a trip here still has to consider some things because it's a different country and here for some nationalities visa regulations prevail and I have heard of some who need a visa for Singapore and when they cross the border, they often have problems to be able to enter Singapore again in the evening which is why it is not a good idea for many.

In any case, it's very important for those who do not have a visa to fill out an arrival card for Malaysia and another one for Singapore on the return journey and to be on the safe side, everyone should prepare at least one day before because otherwise everything is much more complicated. Many people from Malaysia work in Singapore, which is why they have to cross the border every day, which I would classify as relatively safe and depending on where someone lives in Singapore, it takes a good hour to get to the border and another half an hour until someone is in Malaysia. When I arrived I first had to change some money and for a day trip it's enough in any case to exchange small quantities because here less cashless payments are possible than in Singapore, but I would first compare the money exchanges because some had abnormally high fees. My first destination was from the border to the Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque which was only about 2 kilometres away, but the trip was a bit complicated and the driver let me out in the middle of the main road, but a woman could quickly show me the way.

I would have liked to look more inside but the access was only possible for Muslims but also from the outside who is worth seeing and in front of the mosque, there is also an information board that describes the history. After the mosque I ordered a Grab car and first drove to an impressive glass palace which cost admission but I could learn a lot about the tradition and it was worth the visit in any case. Afterwards it was already noon, which is why I started looking for a restaurant and rather found a really good local ambiance in which I could test traditional food and then I took a look at the city. Nearby was a Chinese museum which I would have liked to see so much, but it was just closed which is why I decided to go to Johor Bahru Old Chinese Temple as my next destination in which I experienced some great moments and also when it was just decorated to fit the Chinese New Year. I actually saw already much and it was about 3pm and a good time to return to Singapore and first I thought about going the see with Indonesia the next day, but this would have cost a little more time than I had, which is why it stayed with a day trip and in retrospect would recommend every visitor from Singapore to stop by here!
