Today I am starting a new blog post series where I'll share photos, experiences and interesting things about my recent trip to Rhodes, Greece. Over the past few years I never really got to share anything from my travels as it's kind of overwhelming to go through all the photos and try to organize them into different posts, so this time I am doing it right after the trip - maybe posts will be a little bit messy, maybe I won't share absolutely everything but I just know I don't want to procrastinate like I did with previous travels.
Arriving in Rhodes and first impressions
Our flight was really smooth and it was a great experience! I was kind of excited because it's been almost three years since I was on a plane. It took us less than 2 hours from Belgrade to Rhodes and a short bus ride from the airport to our hotel where we got a little bit of rest and unpacked some necessary stuff before heading out to the city.
We arrived in the afternoon so we still had time to go out for a walk and check out the nearest beach. I instantly fell in love with narrow streets and pathways with a lot of plant pots and different colored houses/apartments.
There are countries famous for their architecture, colors and decorations and Greece is definitely one of them. This was my fourth time in Greece and third time on one of the Greek islands and every time I fall in love even more with this country. In Rhodes town (as well as on the entire island) there's a lot of greenery - no matters if it's big trees or small plant pots, they really seem to care about it.
Beach time
Since we arrived at the beach when the sun was setting, we didn't want to rent sunbeds and we just found a spot close to the water where we can put our beach towels, chill and watch the sunset.
Water was already a bit cold and I wasn't brave enough to go for a swim but it was still really nice to enjoy the view and the vibes, listen to the sound of water and relax after a day of traveling. There's something so nice and relaxing being by the bed of water, especially sea and I really missed it!
Going for a walk and exploring the harbor
After a beach break we decided to go for a walk alongside beach - there is a long walking path that leads you to the harbor and Rhodes Old Town. Even though we were a little bit tired, our excitement and desire to explore was stronger, lol.
I really liked all the monuments, old buildings, palm trees, pretty looking restaurants, light breeze as the sun was setting. There were so many details and little things that come together as a wonderful experience and I was just super grateful to be there, absorb everything and enjoy one of my favorite countries.
Coming to the harbor I was really blown away by the beauty of it and by the amazing views everywhere I looked! I haven't seen many harbors in my life but I think this could be one of the best I came across so far! I wish I had more photos to share...
There's so many little boats that are mostly meant for short cruises. Some of them take you to the nearby island Symi, some of them take you to the white village Lindos and I guess some are meant just for cruising around the sea, going to good snorkeling spots etc.

After this walk we reached Old Town and found a restaurant to have dinner (finally)! I had moussaka, a traditional Greek dish, and after that it was time to head to the hotel, get some sleep and rest for the next day.
I hope you enjoyed this travel blog, I'll see you in the next one soon!
