It's been more than a month that I have returned from my Japan holidays and its high time that I start sharing my Japan stories. Every day we explored new places and had new experiences. There was never a dull moment through all the 11 days that we were there. My Son rather jokes with me saying, we were on a Marathon. Yes, there was no easy going time, all the time we were doing something :-)
Today I am going to share about our Ropeway ride that was on the Alpine route. The start point of this route is Ogizawa and the end point is Murodo. Travelling between these 2 places there are multiple modes of transport and the ropeway is one of them. It's a short 7 minutes ride, but very dramatic one.
This is a no pillar ropeway, which means there are no pillars between the 2 stations, sounded scary to me in the first place, but then thousands of people travel on it and are safe :-). The winter snow is heavy here with almost 10 meters of snow so that would damage the pillars, hence they made it a single stretch which is around 1.7 kms just hanging on end to end pillars over the valley. The locals here call it as flying over the Tateyama mountains.
The day we visited it was not a clear day so the views were also not very clear, on and off it got clear and cloudy but still the views of the valley are dramatic. On a clear day I am sure it would be the best view on the entire Alpine route.
Sharing the pictures of this journey.

This particular ropeway ride is a 7 minutes of engineering + nature combined to experience.
