It's a difficult phase

In the recent war situation a lot of GCC countries are impacted with their travels. Quite a few people are stranded in different parts of GCC and want to get back home. Flight schedules are disrupted while many may not know but it's a chaos. From the places where flights are operating in safe zones the ticket prices are soaring high almost 7 to 8 times more then the normal fares. Since hubby works for airline, in the last few days we have been receiving constant calls from our friends and known people, to help someone or the other in their travel. Dubai and Muscat are neighboring cities and by road easy to travel, it can be reached in 5 to 6 hours including completing all the border formalities. Hence lot of people are travelling from Dubai to Muscat and then taking a flight from Muscat to their destinations.

Muscat airport at any given time is packed in the last few days, there are additional charter flights introduced and the official airline Oman Air is doing their best to make people fly back to their home. Still it's not easy, because as tension keeps rising more and more with each passing day, people want to get back home. There were many people who thought this would all get over in a few days, but it does not look that way and now not only the tourist but the resident expats are also wanting to travel back to their home.

One of my dear Hive friend @jatinhota, was also in Dubai and wanted to travel back home to India. He arranged for his travel eventually from Muscat last night. Yesterday they arrived from Dubai and I hosted them at my place, then they left by night flight to India. They flew by Air India and it was a big expense with all of this travel. People who can afford to spend will do it, but think about those who cannot afford to pay such huge amount of money. Another couple friend of ours paid 2 lakh INR to travel from Dubai to India, which is like extremely crazy. In normal times for a couple at the most it will cost 40K. Peope flying into Europe regions are paying 3.5k to 4k dollars for one way ticket to their destinations, which in normal times the fare would be 700 to 800 dollars.

One of our friend working at the airport sent us this picture yesterday of the scene at the airport, and this is really crazy. In normal times, there is not even 1/4 crowd of this.

Looking at all this chaos, me and hubby have decided to cancel our Germany travel which was planned for 19th March and not take any chances in this situation. Everything is uncertain right now and it's risky to get stuck up in a foreign land. While some Airlines are making losses with this situation, some are making good amount of profits.

I just hope that all this gets settled down soon and peace is restored. No one anticipated this amount of chaos spreading out into other regions.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Absolute madness. It's true, people are asked to pay 3-4K to fly back to Europe. Those who manage to get to Cairo might get a cheaper flight. I have a couple of friends in Singapore who want to fly back and the ticket prices skyrocketed first to 8K and now it's 13K. Nuts. Germany and Europe in general are OK thus far, however, airlines are super busy bringing home their citizens.

But getting to Cairo from Middle East is also not easy, because all flights have become super expensive. 13K is really crazy, that's even more then a first class ticket :-(
This is the reason I cancelled my trip to Germany, which was planned on 19th March and I was planning to message you, letting you know. May be once the situation gets better then I plan again

Yes, Nainaz! Send me a message when you visit Germany, aka when you have rescheduled your trip. I hope this mess doesn't turn into years of turmoil. Have a lovely weekend.

This is a difficult time, and everyone needs to stay safe, exercise restraint, save money, and stock up on groceries.
People have traveled far from home to earn money, but in these difficult times, airlines are selling tickets at significantly higher prices. This is sad. If only there were a set rule for this, no one would be so worried in this situation.
Take care of yourself and your family. I hope this all ends soon and life gets back on track.

Stocking up is important in this time. For sure we will see the effects of the war for a long time even if it gets over

It must be scary as well as stressful. Imagine there are also lots of angry people. Please be careful and find time and place to destress when and if you can.
