oh we were pretty close then... not a great weather now to visit, the best is spring or early autumn
you have seen quite a lot but i highly recommend to take the boat and go visit Murano and Burano, the second has some really great views with the colored houses

The hotel offered us a free boat to Murano, but it clashed with our bookings for the other attractions. That could be something to do next time. The whole place feels like some fantasy land really. I expect it could be busy at some other times, but it was crowded enough when we were there in some places.
Venice is always pretty crowded, well during carnival you can't even walk
