Today I felt so exhausted that I decided to go somewhere that could make me feel calm again. City life can be really tiring sometimes. The constant movement, the noise, the work routine, and the feeling that everything is always moving fast can really drain me. So from time to time, I feel like I need to escape the busyness of the city and go to a place where I can just stare at the water, the sky, and especially the sunset.

And luckily, there is one place in Singapore where I can almost forget that I’m still in the city.
I’m talking about Woodlands Waterfront.

This place is located at the outer edge of Singapore, and I think that is also what makes it special. It feels far from the usual city center vibe. When I arrived and stood on the deck, I felt like I was already at the border of another world. From there, I could literally see Malaysia across the water. I even joked to myself that if I shouted toward Malaysia, maybe someone there could hear me. LOL.

But jokes aside, the feeling here was really peaceful.
The water was very calm that evening. There were no dramatic waves, just soft movements on the surface, almost like the sea was also resting after a long day. It was the perfect place to zone out and let the mind become quiet for a while. Sometimes, I don’t really need a big adventure. I just need a wide open view, a cooling breeze, and enough space to breathe.

The timing of my visit was also perfect. The sky had this beautiful blend of blue and warm sunset colors. On one side, the sky was still bright and cool, while on the other side, the sunset slowly painted the horizon with soft golden tones. The clouds also made the view even more dramatic, like they were stretching across the sky just to add more texture to the evening.
I really love this kind of sunset. It is not too loud, not too fiery, but very calming. It feels like the day is slowly closing in the gentlest way possible.

From the waterfront, I could see the skyline of Johor Bahru, which is one of the cities in Malaysia. Seeing it from this side made it feel so close. It’s funny to think that another country is just across the water. Actually, it probably takes only a few minutes to cross this distance by sea, and maybe one day soon, I will go to Johor Bahru just for a few hours to wander around and explore. That sounds like a fun mini-adventure waiting to happen.
But for today, I didn’t really want to go anywhere else.
All I wanted was to stay there, watch the sky, and reset.

There were other people at the waterfront too, some walking, some cycling, and some simply enjoying the same view. But even with people around, the place still felt peaceful. Maybe because everyone seemed to be there for the same reason: to enjoy the breeze and let the evening pass slowly.
Tomorrow is already happy hump day, so this little adventure came at the perfect time. It gave me the pause that I needed before facing the rest of the week again.
So I’m sharing these photos with the hope that you will also feel the calm that I experienced during my visit. Woodlands Waterfront may be far from the usual city spots, but that is exactly why it feels special.

Nice space for a relax and peaceful moment!
Hmm nice brother your travel location always hits different and good photography makes it amazing 🤩
that looks like a nice place to take a ride after work, most friday or saturday I do the same after work just take my scooter and go for a ride around a similar place in Panama, the place is Cinta Costera, is this long drive on the coast about 5km that then connects to another place that is about another 10km of drive through the ocean, sometimes we just need to decompress and relax a bit to forget everything and reset 😅
