From Cycling Around Singapore to Planning a Chiang Mai Escape

Over the past few months, traveling around Singapore through cycling has slowly become part of my lifestyle. What started as a simple way to go outdoors and explore different corners of the city has now grown into something much bigger for me. Cycling has given me a new reason to look forward to weekends, a new motivation to create content, and a new way to appreciate even the familiar places around me. Because of that, I started thinking lately… what if I explore beyond Singapore too? And yes, that little thought is finally becoming real because in the near future, I will be traveling to Thailand. Woohoo!

I am honestly very excited about this trip. It feels refreshing to have something new to look forward to, especially after spending so much time exploring the city through cycling adventures, photowalks, and little nature escapes. This upcoming trip feels like the next step for me. It is still about exploring, still about finding beautiful places, and still about collecting memories, but this time it will happen in a different country.

Of course, before getting too carried away by the excitement, I also had to do a reality check. Traveling to another country may be very exciting, but it also means I need to be more careful and more prepared. Thailand is one of the most frequently visited countries in this region, and because of that, there is already so much information available online. Still, I know that no matter how popular a destination is, there are always things to be mindful of. Just like anywhere else in the world, unpleasant experiences can happen if I become too carefree or unaware of my surroundings.

That is why I have been doing some research about the place, possible risks, common scams, and the differences between tourist-friendly areas and places that may be cheaper but come with more concerns. I think this is something every traveler should do regardless of the destination. It is always better to know the potential risks in advance so that the trip can remain enjoyable and stress-free. I want this journey to be something memorable for the right reasons.

So where exactly am I going? It is not Bangkok, although I would also love to visit Bangkok someday. For this trip, I do not have enough time to explore too many places, so I decided to focus on a quieter destination instead. I will be visiting a part of Chiang Mai called Ban Luang.

What excites me about this place is that the trip will be very different from the usual city vibe I experience here in Singapore. Instead of busy streets, malls, and constant movement, I expect this trip to be more about nature, temples, and peaceful scenery. I imagine Chiang Mai to have a slower and more relaxed atmosphere, and that is exactly the kind of experience I want right now. Sometimes I feel that being surrounded by city life all the time can become a little draining, so a nature-centered trip sounds like the perfect escape.

I am really looking forward to soaking in the views, enjoying the calm surroundings, and simply taking a break from the fast rhythm of everyday life. I can already imagine myself appreciating the greenery, the cultural charm, and the peaceful mood of the place. It feels like the kind of trip that will not only be enjoyable but also refreshing for the mind.

Chiang Mai is definitely going to be a new experience for me, and I know it will give me beautiful and unique memories to bring home. I am excited to see how this trip will inspire me, both as a traveler and as someone who enjoys creating content from the places I visit.

See you there in Chiang Mai!
