The good thing about having enough rest is that I suddenly feel motivated to do more physical activities. Since the weather was also looking good today, I decided that it was the perfect time to take my bicycle out and go on another small adventure around the city.

For today’s ride, my destination was Little Guilin at Bukit Batok Town Park. The entire cycling trip was around 13 kilometres and it took me a little more than one hour, with an average speed of about 12 kilometres per hour. That is definitely not fast compared to the professional cyclists that I sometimes see along the way, LOL.
But honestly, I was never trying to cycle fast.

I usually prefer taking the park connectors and quieter pathways because they feel much safer to me. Many experienced cyclists use the main roads, but I still find it risky to cycle beside moving cars. I would rather take my time and enjoy the journey without constantly worrying about the traffic.
Of course, the safer route is not always the smoothest one. Some parts of the pathway have uneven surfaces, while other sections are intentionally roughened to encourage cyclists to slow down. It can make the ride a little tiring, but I think it is still worth it. For me, cycling is not about speed or extreme challenges. It is more about enjoying the breeze, looking around, and noticing the views that I normally would not see.

I started my ride at around 6:00 PM because I wanted to avoid the harsh afternoon sun. The timing felt almost perfect. The air was cooler, the roads were more comfortable, and there was still a warm glow in the sky. As I moved closer to Little Guilin, the sunset colours slowly appeared behind the trees and buildings.

I was determined to reach the park before it became too dark, so I continued cycling at a steady pace. By around 7:00 PM, I finally arrived—and I was surprised that the sky was still bright!

The remaining daylight gave the place a beautiful blue-hour atmosphere. The cliffs looked dramatic against the soft sky, while the calm lake reflected the rocky formations and surrounding greenery. Even the textures on the cliff remained clear and visible. It felt peaceful, especially after spending more than an hour cycling to get there.

I also enjoyed the contrast of the place. On one side, there were tall residential buildings and city roads. On the other side, there was this quiet lake surrounded by rocks and trees. It is amazing how a place that feels so scenic can still exist within the city.

I stopped for a while, took photos from different angles, and simply appreciated the view. My bicycle was beside me, my legs were already tired, but I felt satisfied knowing that I had reached my destination.

A gorgeous park! You catch the light beautifully in your photos.
