A series with some pretty shocking scenes that might make viewers uncomfortable. However, it makes the overall atmosphere of terror on the ship feel believable, especially when there's a beast lurking.

It's also really true to the time. In that era and earlier it was not unheard of for sailors to be die due to a flogging. There was a reason why people joined pirates ships even though being a pirate was super dangerous what with the whole death by hanging penalty.
That's the best part: recreating the era and conveying that feeling of witnessing those events.
