I have a bright yellow rain jacket, with a hood, that I bought from Bass and Co. when my children were children. The youngest just turned 50. I wore that raincoat the other day. I don't know how I didn't lose it after all these years...maybe because it is bright yellow.
Ordinarily I don't buy 'good' clothes or personal accessories because I lose everything. As I've confessed before on Hive, I lost my wedding ring on my honeymoon. I was hired for a new job in 1988 and threw my first paycheck away with the lunch remains.
Basically, I don't want to be responsible for 'good' stuff. I don't feel an attachment to what I own, so I don't have to think about it. It's easier for me that way:))
Thank you! I remember the Bass and Co. brand. I think they made deck shoes too. 40+ years is a long history with something like that!
I'm kind of the opposite in regard to my "stuff"—I try to keep track of things and take care of them. When I say that word "stuff" it reminds me of George Carlin's monologue about stuff in his comedy routine. ; )
One thing I find it impossible to take care of are white shirts for some reason. Any white shirt I own ends up with tea stains on it so I keep a bottle of stain remover handy and try to wear darker colors whenever I can.
