I think the flower's shape prevents bees from getting to the pollen...
It takes a certain moth that lives only in Africa - without looking this up...

Anyways, apart from the usual runners, I sometimes pull out whole forsythia with their own little root system and no attachment - also as you said - quite far across the garden.
It's hard to tell... I now have 7 or so bushes in total...
