I didn't like gyms for a long time, either. But I noticed that I'm not doing enough exercise when I'm only at home, though I know many good body weight stuff. The gym is more about being at a place for that one purpose.
MA were always something for me. I did quite a few. Capoeira, Aikido, Kung Fu, and now Tang Soo Do. Basically whatever is available. Aikido and Kung Fu were my favorites. Especially learning the forms.
Concrete works fine, too, but takes a little longer. And the blocks do the trick for this little part, it won't have to bear much weight.
Access to the equipment probably wouldn't hurt either.
Kung fu was my favourite as well, really wish I could get back into it. I should actually just train with Eldest because he wants to but even fitting that in has been challenging x_x
