Tenerife Uncovered: Chill Day At Monkey Park

One in a while I fade crypto and leave the Metaverse unattended, as I go away to touch some grass! I don't disconnect 100% because you know a true Chad can't go Out Of Office for too much time... it's just impossible!

Tenerife is the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, and my holiday destination for a while! It is a remarkable destination that offers a striking mix of natural wonders, cultural richness, and culinary delights.

I took you for a tour of the island, showed you the beaches, the volcano, and we had some food! You've seen the magnificent Loro Parque and now you will enjoy street art!

Monkey Park Tenerife is honestly one of the island’s hidden gems. It’s located just a few minutes' drive from Los Cristianos, and it offers a completely different vibe compared to big, tourist-heavy attractions like Loro Parque or Siam Park.

Inside Monkey Park you’ll find a bit of everything! Get up close with curious lemurs that may hop onto your shoulder, playful monkeys that might swipe your snacks, and swarms of colorful birds!

Monkey Park is all about intimacy! You actually walk inside the enclosures where small monkeys, lemurs, parrots, and iguanas roam freely. You’re not standing behind cages or glass ... you’re right there among them!

There are a lot of them... and the animals are super friendly... especially if you have a little bit of food for them! Don't forget to buy the treats at the entrance for $2 per bag!

  • Lemur Territory: The lemurs are often the stars of the show. They're curious, gentle, and will sometimes hop right onto your shoulder or lap if you sit still long enough. Watching them eat from your hand is a wild experience.
  • Monkey Enclosures: Smaller monkeys like squirrel monkeys and marmosets are everywhere. They're fast, playful, and very cheeky, often trying to steal snacks straight from your pockets if you aren’t careful.

  • Exotic Birds: Brightly coloured parrots, parakeets, and cockatoos fill the aviaries with sound and colour. Some are trained to come close for food or even little tricks.

Monkey Park is pretty small but you can walk through it comfortably in 1–2 hours. It’s 100% worth it for the interaction. It's also not overly commercialized, so the atmosphere feels relaxed and authentic.

  • Reptiles and Tortoises: There’s a quiet area with large tortoises and iguanas chilling out. It’s a nice spot to slow down after all the hyperactive lemurs and monkeys.
  • Guinea Pig Zone: It's not just exotic animals—kids (and adults) love the super cute guinea pig area where you can feed and pet dozens of them running around

If you go, definitely bring a camera because you're almost guaranteed to have a lemur selfie moment. Would you want a little plan on how to fit it into your Tenerife trip? I can also recommend a couple of great nearby cafes if you want to chill after!

Walking inside enclosures instead of viewing through glass changes the experience completely, especially with lemurs bold enough to climb on you.
