#1240 - Luneta Park Shots for Friday.

Good day greetings fellow dearest Hiveans around the world! Happy Friday to everyone! The weekend is finally here and I am sure most of us are feeling that excitement. Now for our daily shots at the historical Rizal Park in Manila. The weather was bright and sunny but the energy of the city was exciting. I was back with my crew, my wife, our son Joaquin and our relatives. The first thing that grabbed our attention was the massive Independence Flagpole. Standing right in front of the plaza. We looked up as the giant Philippine flag waving proudly against blue skies and light clouds. The sun was beaming down that it created a bright flare right next to the pole.

Walking a bit further into the plaza, we stood in front of the Rizal Monument. Seeing it once again always brings a sense of quiet respect. The stone art stood tall and the bronze statue of Jose Rizal looked so grand. We even saw the honor guards in their uniforms standing completely still at their posts. It was a proud moment to share with my son and showing him important piece of our history.

As we were strolling along the concrete path, we crossed path with a local resident which was a friendly cat! It had beautiful patches of orange, black and white fur and it's just hanging out near sacks of grass.

Before wrapping up our Rizal park tour, we walked over to the other side to see the Sentinel of Freedom which is the monument of Lapu-Lapu. Standing tall against green plants and framed by tree branches, the statue looked powerful. He was holding his sword firmly like a true guardian of the country.

It was a morning experience filled with walking, talking and learning and it gave us a chance to just enjoy being together. From the flagpole to the quiet park of Rizal, the heroic Lapu-Lapu and even the cute cat, this day turned out to be an unforgettable morning with the family.
