#1198 - Four Lakes Kabayan Benguet Shots for Thursday.

Now for our daily shots in another part of Kabayan Benguet during our hike to the three separate lakes in Kabayan, Benguet. By late afternoon, we had already crossed off lake Ambulalacao and found ourselves arriving at the area covered by Lake Latep-Ngapos. This particular lake is famous among hikers for having the largest concentration of mossy forest in the area and let me tell you that those stories are completely true.

The moment we stepped into its part of the trail, it felt like we had walked straight into a fairy tale. The weather was gloomy, with thick clouds hanging low in the sky. The air was also cold, much colder than earlier and a mysterious fog was creeping, completely covering the surrounding mountain like a white blanket. The trees were filled in moss. The moss hung from the branches like curtains. It gave the whole place an ancient vibe that was eerie silent but beautiful.

I was here with my wife, our good friend Dandreb and our very knowledgeable lady guide. We were mesmerized by the scenery. Even though it was getting late we took the opportunity to take as many photos as we could. My wife posed against the backdrop of the fog covered mountains.

We really did enjoy this specific part of the hike the most. There was something calming about the quietness of the mossy forest. The fog added a layer of mystery that made every shape look fascinating. It wasn't your typical bright and sunny postcard view but the moody atmosphere was a thousand times better imo.

As much as we wanted to stay lost in that mystical forest, our adventure wasn't over haha. Our lady guide reminded us that we still had more ground to cover before it gets dark. Hence we prepared ourselves for the next leg of the journey. There was more to follow as we left Lake Latep-Ngapos and continued our trek toward the next destination on our itinerary, Lake Incolos.
