#1193 - Kabayan Benguet Shots for Monday.

Now for our daily shots after a long drive up to the municipality of Kabayan in Benguet. We had been on the road for hours trailing twisting mountain highways and we finally reached our destination one sunny afternoon. The sky was cloudy and the sun shining down bit on the high mountains. So we stepped out of the car to stretch a bit before heading to the transient, we were greeted by that signature highland chills already. The air was biting where you feel the heat of the sun on your face but freeze the moment the wind blows against your skin.

We were still about a kilometer away from the transient house we had booked for the night. The view in front of us was simply too stunning to just drive by. So we grabbed our phones and cameras and captured the magnificent terrace farms that the Cordillera region is so famous for, a true testament to the hard work and ingenuity of the local Igorot farmers.

Most of the farms in this area were planted with carrots. It was an amazing sight to see endless rows of their green tops. We spent a good amount of time right here on the roadside, just taking photos of the breathtaking surroundings. The smell of the fresh earth was so clean and refreshing.

After our unplanned photo session, we got back into the car to go to our destination. When we finally arrived at our booked transient house, we were all smiles but feeling the effects of the winding mountain travel. The weather was still that perfect.

We quickly brought our bags inside the cozy room and rest for a bit. We sat together in the living area, looking out the window and it was the perfect way to unwind after a long journey to Kabayan.
