#1133 - Our Mount Pulag Hike Registration and Preparations for Saturday.

Greetings wonderful Hive family all around the world! I hope this Saturday brings plenty of joy and relaxation. May your day be free from stress and full of good vibes. Take a deep breath, enjoy the freedom and have a fantastic Saturday. You all deserve it❤️❤️.

Now for our daily shots on our journey to hike Mount Pulag kicked off when we arrived at the DENR registration office in Kabayan. The air here was crisp which is a clear sign of the high altitude. I was traveling with my group, my wife, our close friend Dandreb and two other friends. We were all eager to sign the DENR paper and waivers but need to have to sit through an important orientation, an informative session that lasted about thirty minutes. The DENR employee spoke to us about the rules, the importance of preserving the environment and safety precautions.

After the briefing was done, we proceed with the registration requirements and obtain our medical certificates to ensure we were physically ready for the climb, was out of sleep because I drove long the whole night and got a high blood pressure. After being cleared, we went to a small booth where we pinned our small portrait pictures onto a board along with photos of those previously conquered Mount Pulag. It was a simple act. We are now registered hikers ready to take on the mountain.

Then we drove for about thirty minutes to reach the Ranger Station located higher up. The ride was scenic with the roads getting steeper, zigzag and the pines getting denser. At the station, the booking for our guide was done. We didn't miss the chance to take group photos there against the backdrop of the station sign.

Then we went to our transient house to drop off our bags. Here the coldvtemperature was immediate due to the high elevation, it was cold. The kind of cold that makes you see your breath in the air. We checked in briefly but we're hungry. We decided to walk around the small community nearby to find a place to have lunch.

The village was quiet and peaceful where we found a local small eatery. My wife and I ordered a great meal of pork feet stewed with brown beans plus a serving of fresh string beans. The food was hot, flavorful and nutritious. It fueled us up and got us ready for the adventure that awaits. More to follow.
