#1091 - A Walk at Intramuros Minor Basicila Shots for Tuesday.
Good morning once again and a warm Tuesday to us all dearest Hiveans across the world! Tuesday is here filled with the energy of the week. Wishing you a meaningful Tuesday. Have a great day aheadπ.
Now for our daily shots, once upon a Friday morning run at UP Diliman which made our legs tired but our spirits high. With the whole day ahead of us since we didn't have work that time, my wife and I looked at each other and she said "It's been a while." So instead of heading home, we went toward the heart of Manila and right inside the stone walls of Intramuros.

We once again were here at the historic grid of the old Walled City which feels like traveling through time. We stood in front of the Palacio del Gobernadorwhich is today houses the Comelec or Commission on Election but its name carried those Spanish who once ruled here.

Since I hate politics here, our real target was right beside it, the magnificent Manila Cathedral or the Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. From across the road, it was still a stunning sight, its grand structure which was rebuilt after the war seems reaching for the sky. My wife and I took turns playing pro photographer as we try to frame each other with the cathedral in our background, just like everyone else that was there visiting were doing.

Stepping closer on it, the details were more detailed. The restored exterior has been repaired and rebuilt many times since its original foundation centuries ago during the Spanish era. It wasn't just a old stone church but it felt resilient and survived wars and earthquakes to stand proudly up to this day.

We have more photos of the church and other old places nearby it but those will be for our next blog post. That first Friday of the year 2026 was a surprise.. from a quick run in Quezon City to a journey into the past in Manila and it was the perfect start to the 2026.
