Moving now to our daily shots together with my wife and our friends Dandreb and L, and I. Weeks back at home, we were chasing supposedly a sunrise from the top of Mariglem mountain but it was no longer possible because of the rainy weather.

We started hiking at five under a sky with the color of charcoal and fog. The rain from the earlier hours, which we encountered from our beach transient in Liwliwa going to the starting point where the guide lives, had done its work, the trail was made of wet soil and small rocks, not slippery at all. "Who's idea was this again?" L joked as Dandreb followed behind her. We moved like a chain while calling out slippery areas.

As the world lightened to deep gray, we were walking on high, thick grass blades and the air felt ancient and cool. It was like walking through a fairy tale with the silence broken only by our catching breathing.

Unfortunately there was no golden sunrise but just thick fog and clouds had filled all the valleys below us. Felt like wee were above the rain on an island of rock in a white gray sea. The wind was also strong, giving us some dramatic glimpses of distant deep green slopes.

"We finally made it!" my wife said, catching her breath. We all stood there soaked and absolutely thrilled with the experiences and the view. The promised panoramic view was hidden but what we got felt more personal. We took our summit photosanyway, ate some boiled eggs laughing while at the summit which feel like a victory we have truly earned together as a team.
