Robbed in Namibia – Lost My Phone, My Data, and My Journey

I didn’t expect to write something like this.

In February 2025, I traveled to Namibia — and it became the best country I had ever visited out of more than 40.

I loved it so much that I decided to come back in 2026 for my birthday and spend 60 days exploring it again.

But everything changed.

The Attack in Windhoek

In Windhoek, I was attacked by two armed men.

I defended myself during the assault, and I know I injured at least one of them. Later, the police told me that I had actually injured both.

But in the chaos, one of them escaped — with my phone.

Inside that phone was a 1TB SD card containing everything from this journey. All my photos and videos from Zanzibar to Namibia.

Everything.

Lost Data, Lost Story

This wasn’t just random content.

I was planning to turn this journey into a documentary for my blog and channels — to show the beauty, culture, and reality of traveling across Africa.

Now, that data is gone.

Month of documenting, effort, and this entire journey — erased in a moment.

A Journey Without Result

I invested a lot into this trip.

Traveling from Zanzibar to Windhoek meant transport costs, accommodation, and daily expenses.

Now I have nothing left to show for it.

No images.
No videos.
No documentation.

Situation Now

I am currently dealing with police and legal processes, hoping something might still be recovered — but it doesn’t look promising.

On top of that, I’ve been threatened by people connected to the attackers after the incident.

I never thought I would say this, but after this experience, I can no longer recommend Namibia.

Why I’m Asking for Help

I am not rich.

I cannot just replace my devices easily. And I don’t earn money from my content — I share experiences, recommend places, and show the beauty and culture of the world.

This situation hit me hard.

Not at the time. I don't have a phone that is good, fast and has a great camera. So traveling is not fun at the time. I think I will break here up and leave the countty, i lost a lot of photos and video and i wanted to make blog posts

Whoever themarkymark is, i never hear about him and he is not my friend. Could you please stop blaming me stuff I never did! I do have my own problems, i was robbed, lost my new and good phone with all the photos. Everything thats left is my shit phone with some shit photos on it.
