Musical Monday ( the start)

In 1964 at the age of 17, I was the eldest of 6 children, 3 boys and then 3 girls. We went to England on the Cape Town Castle Liner , probably the ultimate Holiday!

We were Latter Day Saint members, and the purpose was to go and do Temple work for the Family.
The Cruise was fantastic , Flying Fish travelling beside us ,on occasion.
When we arrived there we stayed in a Flat in Earls court, not far from the Overseas visitors club, where we saw TV for the first time. I immediately became addicted to Top of the Pops ,and was totally enamoured with what I saw and heard there.

The Beatles Movie A Hard Days Night was just released and I went to see it at a theatre at Piccadilly Circus.

I also saw Manfred Mann live recording a show for Radio , i was very impressed with them as well.

We went to the temple and were sealed together as a family.
My Dad also hired a van and we went up to Scotland in it , also doing a bit of camping as well.
I had never seen underground trains before, you did not need to know the times ?, as if you missed one, the next would be along in a few minutes!
By the time this trip was finished and we were sailing back , I wanted to be in a rock band and had no more interest in school! (to be continued)
