Today is day 8 of posting on Hive for 2026, one week in and still going strong. To be fair I have impressed myself with my week long streak of posting on Hive.
Being on holidays has definitely helped to have content to post and I should probably work on a plan for how I will keep it going once my holiday is over.
Anyway today I got up and had a coffee like everyday and then went for a walk. Coffee and a morning walk have become part of my daily routine while on holidays. Sometimes I have a few of my kids come with me and sometimes only one, but everyday so far I have had someone come for a walk with. We got some heavy rain last night and we saw a bit of water still in puddles around the area that had not had enough time to drain away or seep into the ground.

Even the water running between the ponds was running faster today. The extra water in the catchments forcing them to run faster.

After our walk we went up the street to have a look around at some shops and some lunch. We parked in the parking lot and took a walk through the mall buying a few souvenirs for friends and family back home. I had a pork roll with chilli, coriander and shredded carrot on it and a bit of lime. The kids had some hot chips, sushi and satay chicken skewers. The rest of the family had some Chinese food. We then went to another plaza and bought a few items there like clothes and personal items.

After that it was time to go home and get ready for dinner. We had pasta in a cream sauce for dinner. The days are going so fast, I can not believe it is Thursday night already. We leave Monday morning to fly home, so we only have a few days left to enjoy our time up here with family.
I hope that you all had a great day!
Is that Spaghetti carbonara?
I really hope for you guys that the weather remain as in the images, and if rain comes, it should be by night. It gives a clean feeling to the air to start the day after a rainy night 😃
Enjoy the rest of your stay there my friend! 🙌🏼

You just got DUO from @caspermoeller89.
They have 1/1 DUO calls left.

Yes it is spaghetti carbonara. When talking to each other about what sauce we are having for dinner on our pasta we just say white or red sauce, meaning cream or tomato sauce . A red sauce is usually a Napoletana sauce. If we are having like a bolognaise sauce or something we just call it by name. If we are mixing a carbonara sauce with a Napoletana sauce we call it a pink sauce . We do not have that a lot usually it is what we give one of the kids if they don't like cream sauce .
Sounds somewhat reasonable. There's a few missing if you ask me, but it's probably a cultural thing 😃
