RE: Jellyfish in the water: Another reason to be careful at Thailand beaches

There are times when they appear near the shore in massive numbers. It's exactly like that in our area too. That's why whenever someone notices their numbers growing, an announcement is made advising everyone to avoid swimming in the sea for a while.

There was one time when no one noticed they had multiplied again, and a child from the neighboring barangay got stung. Since the child wasn't wearing a shirt while swimming, so many jellyfish stuck to his body, which ultimately caused his death. This is why we really need to be careful with jellyfish.

were they the really dangerous kind? Normal jellyfish are more dangerous than they are deadly. It doesn't mean I am happy they are here. Some people eat them, and I can't even imagine how difficult that is when something will sting you even when it is dead.

Maybe, because the child actually passed away.
