With the garden transitioning from summer’s bounty to more resilient autumn and winter crops, these eggs are a welcome addition to our meals and have made self-sufficiency feel even more achievable.

The best part? The chickens are thriving on leftover scraps, so we haven’t needed extra feed. Sure, the compost heap is a little emptier, but the trade-off is worth it. Every morning, the kids collect eggs, and there’s something deeply rewarding about knowing we have fresh food available without relying on the store.
