Ubatuba <3 Rainforest Paradise

Hi guys, how's it going? I finished my photography class at Senac and took the opportunity to take 11 days off on the coast between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, in a city called Ubatuba. We visited 15 beaches. This Atlantic Forest coastline is so beautiful, with lots of trees, fine sand, and dark green water. We got half of our vacation days with rain and cloudy weather, but we still managed to enjoy it.

Here’s the list of beaches we went to: Praia Vermelha do Centro, Praia Grande, Barra Seca, Perequê, Praia do Tenório, Praia do Cedro, Domingas Dias, Lázaro, Sununga, Praia do Félix, Puruba, Ubatumirim, Praia da Justa, Itaguá, Praia do Centro. We got to eat local fish, drink beer, enjoy a samba circle next to the skate spot, watch the moon rise in the sky on the day of the eclipse, and visit a completely vintage amusement park right in downtown Ubatuba.
We also went to an agroecological fair with organic products - chocolates, breads, mushrooms, kombuchas, and cooking ingredients. It made me want to live there. I highly recommend this trip; this stretch of the coast has a completely curvy and carved geography with tiny beaches, lots of hills, and islands.

Among these smaller beaches, the standout is Praia da Justa, which is in Ubatumirim, about 50 minutes from Ubatuba heading toward Paraty (Rio de Janeiro). It’s a beach with practically no buildings, just trees and a few small fishermen’s boat garages. It’s a very preserved beach, with an island in front, which you can walk to when the tide is low. We saw some blue butterflies, crabs (even got pinched by one on my foot, it actually broke the skin and bled), seagulls, caracaras, and we heard that turtles also appear around there.

Another highlight is Praia da Puruba, which is a beach you have to cross a river to get to, and it’s very preserved, with absolutely no construction on this beach. It's a longer beach, with a river on the left side, a wonderful river, so the meeting of the sea with the river also creates a really beautiful landscape, with a mangrove behind it, and it's really amazing. It's very important for us to preserve the beaches and for them to be public.

Oi gente, tudo bem? Terminei meu curso de foto no Senac, aproveitei para tirar 11 dias de férias no litoral entre São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro, numa cidade chamada Ubatuba. Estivemos em 15 praias. Como é lindo esse litoral de Mata Atlântica, com muitas árvores, areia fina e água verde escura. Pegamos metade do tempo de férias de chuva e tempo nublado, mas mesmo assim a gente conseguiu aproveitar.
Essa é a lista de praia que nós fomos e ainda deu para fazer fotos e filmar meu namorado andando de skate: Praia Vermelha do Centro, Praia Grande, Barra Seca, Perequê, Praia do Tenório, Praia do Cedro, Domingas Dias, Lázaro, Sununga, Praia do Félix, Puruba, Ubatumirim, Praia da Justa, Itaguá, Praia do Centro. Deu pra comer peixes locais, tomar cerveja, curtir uma roda de samba do lado da pista de skate, ver a lua nascendo no céu no dia do eclipse e conhecer um parque de diversão totalmente vintage que tem ali no centro de Ubatuba. Também fomos numa feira agroecológica com produtos orgânicos - chocolates, pães, cogumelos, kombuchas e ingredientes para cozinhar. Deu vontade de morar lá.
Eu recomendo muito essa viagem, este trecho do litoral tem uma geografia toda curvilínea e recortada com praias pequenininhas, muitos morros e ilhas. Destas praias menores o destaque vai pra Praia da Justa, que fica em Ubatumirim, a mais ou menos 50 minutos de Ubatuba sentido Paraty (Rio de Janeiro). É uma praia que não tem praticamente nenhuma construção, só árvores mesmo e algumas garagens de barcos de pequenos pescadores. É uma praia muito preservada, com uma ilha na frente, que quando a maré está mais baixa dá pra ir andando assim pelo mar. Vimos algumas borboletas azuis, siris (até uma beliscada de um no pé, chegou a cortar e sangrar), gaivotas, carcarás e soubemos que por lá também aparecem tartarugas.
Outro destaque é a praia da Puruba, que é uma praia que você tem que atravessar esse rio e é muito preservada, não tem nenhuma construção nessa praia. É uma praia mais extensa, que tem um rio no canto esquerdo, um rio maravilhoso, então o encontro do mar com o rio também faz uma situação bem bonita de paisagem, com um mangue atrás e é realmente incrível. É muito importante a gente preservar as praias e elas serem públicas.
