RE: Kolkata Can Shock With Its Contrasts and Extremes, but It Is Actually Good for Living. Photos and Thoughts

Oh my, nice shots! So many new scenes for me. I don’t fancy the toilet ones, eww! But I guess if you’re desperate, that’s better than by the tree. That banyan tree is huge! Wow. It’s amazing how proud that man looks in the cupboard. How did he even get in there?

I’d feel bad riding on that rickshaw, I’d probably help him push, lol.

I’ve also been a bit impressed by the British contributions there, the English park you mentioned and that useful bridge from your last post, which looks a lot like the bridges here.

Your friend Toni seems to be enjoying taking photos. :)

It depends, lol. Sometimes, better by a tree in a dark corner. Many times, I had to pee at random places - like, at bus agencies - twice - they just showed me a wall they use as a urinal. Etc.

Happily, in Kolkata (and from experience only in Kolkata) they have many cheap and clean paid bathrooms.

There are reasons for that: he doesn't sit on the roadside as many and has the roof above him, and the chair... He is like the high-class guy among the street vendors. Won't be surprised if he inherited this place from his father and selling lottery is their family business for generations, lol... who knows.
