🌃 A Night Under the Pattaya Skyline

Hello everyone!
If you've ever walked around Pattaya, you've probably noticed one thing—no matter where you are, sooner or later your gaze catches on the same spot on the horizon.
That tall, glowing structure that seems to watch over the city.
I’m talking about the Pattaya Park Tower.

📸 Chasing the Perfect Shot

That evening I decided to slow down and actually work on a shot instead of just casually snapping photos.
I experimented quite a bit — different shutter speeds, ISO tweaks, small changes in composition. Night photography always feels like a negotiation: too much light and everything blows out, too little and you lose the subject completely.
In total, I ended up with three main shots. And you know how it goes — one is too dark, one feels off… but the second one? That one just clicked.
Not perfect, but it had balance. Clean lines, controlled light, and that quiet feeling you only get at night.

🏙️ A Tower You Can’t Ignore

A few quick facts about the tower:

  • located in the Pratumnak area

  • around 240 meters tall

  • part hotel, part observation deck, part attraction

  • there’s even a rotating restaurant at the top

And yes — that long “needle” at the top is an antenna, which is why it looks a bit like a broadcast tower.
But what makes it more than just a landmark is the experience.

🎢 Not Just an Elevator Ride

Most people assume you just go up, enjoy the view, and come back down the same way.
Not here.
You actually have options:

  • a cable descent (kind of like a zipline)

  • small cabins sliding down a cable from the top

At night, with all the city lights below you, it must feel surreal. I haven’t tried it yet — but honestly, it’s on the list.

🌈 When the City Turns Neon

Pattaya after dark is a completely different place.
The heat softens, the shadows hide the rough edges, and the city starts glowing. Neon lights spill across the streets, mixing colors in a way that almost feels unreal.
You walk through it like you're inside some kind of low-budget cyberpunk movie — chaotic, colorful, alive.
And of course, the brightest spots are always around the bars. Like moths to a flame, people gather there — laughter, noise, drinks, and that unmistakable energy that only nighttime can bring.

🐍 A Random Stop at the Market

Later that night, while walking through the Thepprasit Night Market, I stumbled upon something that instantly caught my attention — a small tattoo booth.
I couldn’t resist.

At first, I tried to be discreet, sneaking a few shots from behind. But pretty quickly it became obvious — they didn’t mind at all. In fact, they seemed totally comfortable with being photographed.
So I stepped closer.
Now here’s the funny part — I genuinely couldn’t tell who was sitting in the chair. A girl? A guy? Something in between?
And that’s Thailand for you 😄

The tattoo itself was a snake with some kind of script — maybe symbols, maybe stylized lettering. It had a softer, more elegant look, which made it feel more feminine… but honestly, who knows.
What surprised me most was the process.
For some reason, I always imagined tattooing as something intense — lots of pain, maybe even blood. But in reality, it looked almost calm. Focused. Precise. The artist working steadily, the client just sitting there, completely relaxed.
It felt less like something extreme and more like… a quiet ritual.

✨ Moments Over Perfection

That night wasn’t about getting the “perfect” shot.
It was about wandering, noticing, experimenting, and letting the city show itself in its own way.
The tower, the neon streets, the random tattoo moment — none of it was planned.

Pattaya at night doesn’t try to impress you.
It just glows — and waits for you to notice.

I thought that person was a lady, but I looked and saw they had manly features, maybe a man that decided to be a woman, or a woman with a manly feature which can be rare.

I heard Thailand has a lot of these types of people

I agree - it's most likely a guy, and he got his breasts done. But why are they so small? ))

First I looked at the photos and thought, what a strange thing, to let you take photos of a tattoo shop, while the artist is working. I'd want my privacy and besides, there are hygiene rules as well. Then I looked at the woman getting a tattoo and thought, what a strange figure, then I read your post.

Now here’s the funny part — I genuinely couldn’t tell who was sitting in the chair. A girl? A guy? Something in between?
And that’s Thailand for you 😄

I'm not sure I am a fan of this new direction or trend. I understand change and not against it at all, but some things have limits 😬

As a hairdresser I know in Thailand told me, they do all this to themselves for the money. No other reason—only money. They all want to find a rich partner and have him provide for them. Besides, I think they have psychological problems!

Jesus, it's 2026. I mean who wouldn't want to be "financed" but life is more than just that. I guess there are people and people.

Besides, I think they have psychological problems!

Highly possible.
