Never been to the Azores and had no idea where it is... 😃 Luckily, there are Google Maps, so I could check it out... And to be honest... It looks like an (almost) perfect place for living... 😃 I know that you were hiking and that's why there aren't a lot of people around, but still, those houses from the end of the post also look so peaceful...
I'm a bit tired of living in a city, with all the noise from motorcycles, cars, and people yelling on the street, that I could easily imagine myself in the skin of that doggie in the middle of the crossing... 😂

Yeah it was a really nice set of islands. Online a lot of sites refer to it as a European Hawaii. I've never been to Hawaii so I can't say how accurate that description is. It was definitely peaceful. The Sao Jorge island was especially quiet. There were a lot less people and it was very rustic and remote feeling.
I suppose there is the "other side" of the beauty... As it's so green, it means not all days are sunny...
All in all, if you ask me, that's the perfect vacation spot! Calm, peaceful, and in a beautiful nature...
