The lake’s mesmerizing turquoise hue, the majestic mountains rising behind the surrounding pine forests, and the clouds poised to release their rain seem to have gathered all of nature’s beauty in one place. In my opinion, the most striking feature of the lake is the lush green pine forests that encircle it. Soon, the fine raindrops that will fall gently onto the lake’s surface will accompany this beautiful scene.

When you come across scenes like these in the places you visit or explore, you find yourself falling silent and don’t feel like speaking. Because you’d rather spend the time you’d otherwise spend talking simply watching, gazing, and soaking in the silence of the moment. I felt the same way while taking these photos by the lake. I just watched. I tried to listen to the sounds of nature.

Gittiğiniz ya da gezdiğiniz yerlerde karşınıza çıkan böyle manzaralar karşısında sessizliğine bürünüp konuşmak istemezsiniz. Çünkü konuşarak harcayacağınız zamanı sadece izleyerek, bakarak ve o anın sessizliğini hissederek geçirmek istersiniz. Bu göl kıyısında çektiğim resimlerde de aynı duyguları hissettim. Sadece izledim. Doğanın sesini duymaya çalıştım.

The weather is finally warming up. The summer season has begun in Antalya. Now we’ll step away from the lush green landscapes and head to the coastlines where the deep-blue sea stretches out to the horizon. Even though I love the sea and swimming, the places that affect me the most—from the end of fall through the last days of spring—are still the lake shores hidden among the mountains, the streams flowing through the gaps between large and small rocks, and the canyons. Perhaps that’s why a slight sadness begins to settle in my heart as summer approaches.

Havalar artık ısınıyor. Yaz sezonu Antalya'da başladı. Artık yeşil doğa manzaralardan biraz uzaklaşıp, ufukta uzanan masmavi denizlerin olduğu sahil kenarlarına gideceğiz. Her ne kadar denizi ve yüzmeyi çok sevmem de sonbahardan çıkıp, ilkbaharın son günlerine kadar beni en çok etkileyen yerler yine dağların arasında gizlenmiş göl kıyıları, irili ufaklı taşların arasından süzülerek akan dereler ve kanyonlar oluyor. Belki de bu yüzden yaz mevsimi yaklaştıkça içim hafif bir üzüntü oluşuyor.

The Mediterranean offers many options that are beautiful in every season. That’s why I love the Mediterranean so much. On one hand, as the Taurus Mountains rise along the coast, you can explore the ancient cities hidden within the forest. On the other hand, you can head down to the beach to swim in the sun-kissed, deep-blue sea. Since every season has its own story, we encounter many tales to share even in the summer.

Akdeniz'in her mevsimde güzel gösteren bir çok alternatifler var. Bu yüzden Akdeniz'i çok seviyorum. Bir tarafta Toros Dağları kıyı boyunca yükselirken ormanın içinde saklı tuttuğu antik kentlerini gezme fırsatını yakalabilirsiniz. Diğer tarafta ise, güneşin parlattığı masmavi denizinde yüzmek için sahile inebilirsiniz. In the coming days, we’ll be heading a bit more toward the coast and the beaches. We’ll continue exploring the sandy and pebbly shorelines, the hilltops where we can watch the sunset, and the evenings accompanied by the sound of the waves. I write this, but I can never forget those pine-covered forests, the hiking trails with their narrow, dirt paths, and the streams winding their way between two steep cliffs.

Önümüzdeki günlerde rotamızı biraz daha sahillere ve plajlara çevireceğiz. Kum ve çakıl taşlarının oluşan sahil kenarlarını, gün batımını izleyebileceğimiz tepe noktalarını ve dalga seslerinin de eşlik ettiği akşamları keşmetmeye devam edeceğiz. Böyle yazıyorum ama, yine ben o çam ağaçlarıyla kaplı ormanları, dar topraklı patikalı yürüyüş rotalarını iki sarp kayaların arasından süzülerek akan akarsuları asla unutamıyorum.

Actually, ever since I can remember, shades of green have appealed to me a little more than blue. Don’t get me wrong—I absolutely love the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean and the beaches that stretch along the coastline. Whenever I get the chance during the summer, I go for a swim and sunbathe. Especially on those hot summer days in August, the Mediterranean’s salty water washes away the fatigue and the oppressive heat that have built up on me throughout the day.

Yaz aylarında fırsat buldukça denize girer, güneşlenirim. Özellikle Ağustos ayının sıcak yaz günlerinde Akdeniz'in o tuzlu suyu gün boyunca üzerimde biriken yorğunluğu ve sıcağın ağırlığını alıp götürüyor.

I think every traveler has their own little getaway spot. Some people love spending the whole day in the water. Others want to lose themselves in a walk through lush greenery. For me, it’s places where I can walk through the pine trees to reach the water.

Sanırım her gezgincinin kendisine ait olan bir kaçış noktası var. Kimi tüm gün denize girmeyi çok seviyor. Kimisi de yeşil atmosfer içinde yürüyerek kaybolmak istiyor. Benim yolun ise çam ağaçlarının arasından yürüyürek suya ulaşabileceğim yerler oluyor.
