🇫🇷 Je suis actuellement sur l'île de Mayotte pour réaliser quelques prises de vue permettant d'alimenter mon site de stock photos : www.labanquedimagesdemayotte.com . Il s'agit d'un site d'illustration généraliste dans lequel je propose des vues terrestres, aériennes et sous-marines (photos et vidéos). Un peu de tout ! Voici dans ce post quelques unes des photographies que j'ai prises cette semaine du ciel à la mer.
🇬🇧 I am currently on the island of Mayotte to take a few shots that will feed my stock photo site: www.labanquedimagesdemayotte.com . This is a general illustration website in which I offer land, air and underwater views (photos and videos). A bit of everything! Here in this post are some of the photographs I took this week from sky to the sea.

🇫🇷 Cette semaine j'ai plongé et je ramène quelques photographies du fond du lagon. Mayotte possède certainement le lagon le plus riche au monde au niveau biodiversité. Plus de 800 espèces de poisson, des centaines d'espèces de coraux, et 2 à 3 barrières de corail qui se succèdent avec la dernière située à plus de 15 km des côtés. C'est une aire de jeu incroyable pour tous ceux qui aiment plonger que ce soit en bouteille ou également en apnée. Le fond du lagon varie entre 20 et 80m de profondeur. C'est assez unique au monde. On y plonge donc autant à l'extérieur sur le dernier récif, qu'à l'intérieur. Sur les photographies sse succèdent des photographies de la "passe bateaux" situées à l'extérieur du lagon, mais aussi du "récif Rani" situé à l'intérieur du lagon. Cette première photographie est une gorgone avec 2 poisson cocher situé aux pieds du tombant sud de la passe bateaux. Un superbe mur où il n'est pas rare d'y trouver quelques requins, raies Manta ou autres gros individus.
🇬🇧 This week I dove in and brought back some photographs of the bottom of the lagoon. Mayotte certainly has the richest lagoon in the world in terms of biodiversity. More than 800 species of fish, hundreds of species of coral, and 2 to 3 coral reefs in succession with the last one located more than 15 km from the sides. It is an incredible playground for all those who like to dive, whether in bottles or also by apnea. The bottom of the lagoon varies between 20 and 80m deep. It is quite unique in the world. So we dive there as much outside on the last reef as inside. On the photographs, there follow photographs of the "boat pass" located outside the lagoon, but also of the "Rani reef" located inside the lagoon. This first photograph is a gorgon with two coxfish located at the foot of the southern drop-off of the boat pass. A superb wall where it is not uncommon to find some sharks, manta rays or other large individuals.

🇫🇷 Ce gros poisson est un mérou "Patate". Le surnom de "Patate" lui vient des taches que l'on observe sur son corps. Il mesure plus d'un mètre de long. C'est un habitué de la passe bateaux. On le trouve souvent à cet endroit, et il n'a plus vraiment peur des plongeurs qu'il voit passer plusieurs fois par semaine. L'approche pour le prendre en photo n'a donc pas été très compliquée!
🇬🇧 This large fish is a grouper "Potato." The nickname "Potato" comes from the spots observed on its body. It is more than one meter long. He is a regular at the boat pass. He is often found in this place, and he is no longer really afraid of the divers he sees several times a week. The approach to taking a photo of him was therefore not very complicated!

🇫🇷 Nous changeons ici de site et de prise de vue. Je passe en macro et à l'intérieur du lagon. Ici des coquillages connus sous le no de bénitiers. La religion les a nommés ainsi ! A Mayotte, la taille des bénitiers n'atteint pas celle du Pacifique. Mais ce coquillage peut atteindre plusieurs dizaines de kilo.
🇬🇧 We are changing the location and shooting here. I am switching to macro and inside the lagoon. Here, there are shells known as "bénitiers". Religion named them thus! In Mayotte, the size of the giant clams does not reach that of the Pacific. But this shell can reach several tens of kilos.

🇫🇷 Voici la star des murène à Mayotte, la murène javanaise. Elle peut atteindre 3 mètres de long. C'est la plus grande de nos murènes ici. Sa bouche grand ouverte ne représente pas une menace, c'est seulement une nécessité pour elle afin d'absorber de l'eau puis de la filtrer pour en extraire l'oxygène nécessaire à sa survie. Donc, pas de danger !
🇬🇧 Here is the star of the moray eel in Mayotte, the Javanese moray. It can grow up to 3 meters long. This is the largest of our moray eels here. Her open mouth does not pose a threat, it is only a necessity for her to absorb water and then filter it to extract the oxygen necessary for her survival. So, no danger!

🇫🇷 Enfin, pour finir, un petit poisson ballon. Ce sont des poisson peu habile pour nager, ils passent beaucoup de temps posés sur un corail ou sur le fond. Cela étant dit, les prédateurs n'en veulent pas et les laissent tranquilles.
🇬🇧 Finally, to finish, a small balloon fish. These are fish that are not very skilled at swimming; they spend a lot of time resting on a coral or on the bottom. That being said, predators don’t want them and leave them alone.
