🇬🇧 Adansonia digitata, since it was decided to name nature by Latin words, is a tree that can reach 25-30m in height and have a circumference exceeding 15m for the oldest trees. Paradoxically, this giant has fairly short roots that only go a little deep in the ground. It often costs him accidental falls as soon as the ground becomes too loose or the wind too violent. But this tree has planned everything, even to leave one of its branches once it falls to the ground. Immortal then, or almost... A real botanist will tell you here about its flowers, its fruits, its water-soaked bark, but I am not one. So I will rather talk about what fascinated me in Gambia. |
