CAPTURED ALONG THE WAY
Today will be a little different. There will be no single, specific theme or series, as I usually do. For today, I have prepared a few individual photos that I captured somewhere along the way during my trips. Sometimes it is an interesting detail, sometimes a landscape, and sometimes simply something that seemed worth capturing in the frame. Each photo tells its own small story, which is why today I decided to combine these different frames into one post and share them with you.
I took this photo in Austria. I was driving through the city of Salzburg and stopped at a red light. On my left side I could see this beautiful mountain. From below it looked truly monumental. It was also located quite close to the road, which probably added to that impression of its massive scale. The weather that day was not very good, but in my opinion it actually worked in favor of this shot, because the dramatic sky combined beautifully with this magnificent mountain to create a strong composition.
That day the plan was actually completely different. I was supposed to take a train to visit Compiegne, a town in France, but the train never arrived. Since it was a small railway station and a small town, the train only runs twice a day. Unfortunately, it was no longer worth waiting until the afternoon for the next train, so the plans had to change.
I wasn’t alone at the time, because another truck driver was with me, so we decided to go for a walk around the area instead. And while walking through the town of Thourotte, we came across this beautiful spring view. What impressed me the most here was the wonderful spring greenery and the red blooming flowers hanging on the fence, which all came together nicely to form one cohesive composition.
At first glance, nothing special — just a simple table and two chairs. Yet this small café table seemed atmospheric enough that I decided to capture it in a photograph. I took this shot in Germany while visiting the city of Aachen. In my opinion, this photo has its own charm that was worth preserving in the frame.
Colorful umbrellas! This is a view that can already be seen on many streets. I personally managed to capture them in Leipzig, Germany. They were part of the decoration of one of the restaurants. I think they immediately invite people to sit down in such a place, have a coffee or enjoy a piece of cake. What I did of course 😁
A rainy landscape after the rain. This photo was taken in my home country, Poland. While driving to my unloading point toward the Czech Republic, I took my regular 45-minute break at a parking area near a forest. It was already evening and the sunset was approaching. I decided to use that moment, as well as the large puddle located almost in the middle of the parking lot, to capture this scene in the frame.
While walking along the rocky beach in Étretat, France, I noticed this particular stone. It stood out among the others not only because of its size, but especially because of its shape. It actually resembled a heart. So of course I immediately took out my camera and captured this moment in a photograph.
This photo, in turn, was taken in Germany, in the region of Bavaria. After a full day of driving and arriving at the parking area, I simply went for a walk to stretch my legs, while of course looking around, as always, for potential nice frames. That’s when I noticed this lonely tree. Against the backdrop of the setting sun, it looked very atmospheric to me. So without hesitating, I took a few shots, and this is one of them.
And finally, a photo that is a compact composition of flowers and fruits. You cannot see the wider perspective here, but it was actually a decoration in the shape of a huge ice cream cone. I found the idea very interesting and creative. It really looked great. If I remember correctly, this photo was taken during my walk in Leipzig.
