Beneath The Vast Indifference Of Heaven

Time marches on, time stands still
Time on my hands, time to kill
Blood on my hands and my hand's in the till
Down at the 7-Eleven

---Warren Zevon

It's a dumpster fire out there y'all, and we're fighting the flames with napalm. This calls for Zevon!

The eternal Thompson gunner is still keeping up the fight, but today is for contemplating eternity beneath the vast indifference of heaven.

Or in my case, listening to the song and editing photos.

Went picking through the archive for shots that seemed to fit the tune, ended up with these from out west.

Plenty of places there to remind you of your place in the grand scheme of things, and of the universe's concern for your continued existence (or lack thereof).

A gentle rain falls on me
And all life folds back into the sea

Photos are mainly from Utah, with some from Washington and Nevada as well.

Regular reminders are always in order. I appreciate the rocks in my back yard for this, spent the past few days cleaning them up as they had become overgrown with an invasive creeper that some idiot planted there about 20 years ago

Always. Wait, what? Why would anyone willingly plant a creeper? I'm locked in to an eternal battle with Virginia creeper and grapevines here, in the summer at least, it was spitting snow today.

No idea, the rock formation is beautiful and yeah, Virginia creeper is the absolute worst. I'll do a before and after post sometime
