Traveling in Southern Oregon: September 6 2026

I’m traveling and visiting relatives for a few days on the southern coast of Oregon. My brother owns a nice property along a river front and my siblings and I all try to gather together here once a year.

I’ve got way too many photos for one post, so I’ll just start with a walk I took to get some steps and see some of the interesting sights around town.

The first photo is a scene from under a bridge. I loved the lines and how it could have been taken almost anywhere in the world.

The next is a long lovely train track, stretching toward a bridge, some woods and a mountain of cumulus clouds. Doesn’t it whisper to your imagination?

Next we have a mural of some of the local fish to be caught in the nearby rivers that flow to the ocean. These were painted by local artists.

The rest are scenes from around town, a dilapidated house and som of the many wood sculptures to be found on street corners and in front of stores.
