48 nights later

And we're finally home!

I'm sitting on my bed.

In the place I've called home for almost 7 years.

And after 7 weeks away, I can tell you: It's nice to be home.

To say "hi" to the neighbours.

To have the 6 year girl next door launch herself at me for a whole body hug.

To see how the garden has grown.

We walked in the bush, our bush, after dinner.

It was the same, and yet, there were small differences.

I hugged a giant gum.

I imagine that the trees know me

I acknowledge their existence as their own consciousness.

I greet them like an old friend. An old friend I have missed.

I have loved travelling, and we're already talking about what our next trip/s might look like.

But for now?

For now, it's nice to be home.
