Hello everyone. I heard about this Contest through @melinda010100 when she reblogged the post announcing Round 07 of the Night Photography Competition. The link to this post is here and is hosted by @mshbd. I became interested as I have numerous night photographs which I could enter. So here I am.
To start off with my maiden entry to this night photography competition, I will share some pictures of the time my wife, my grandson and myself took an evening flight from Manila, Philippines to our home town Davao City. The flight was scheduled for 9 pm but was delayed because the plane we were supposed to take was diverted to another city to cover for another flight there which was also delayed due to some mechanical problems with their assigned aircraft.
As it turned out we were delayed by almost 3 hours when we began boarding procedures. However, since our flight was now unscheduled, we could not board through the usual tube entrance. Instead, we had to take a bus to bring us to the hangar where our plane was, line up under the night sky ( good thing it wasn't raining), climb the stairs to what felt like a three storey building, then board the plane.

Inside the plane, at last, we found our seats and got ready for takeoff. We enjoyed looking at the other planes that were also taxiing ahead of us.

Getting ready for takeoff. My grandson safely buckled with seat upright began reading his book preparing for the almost 2 hours flight.

When we took to the sky, we both marvelled at the night skyline of Metro Manila which is the biggest and most developed of all in the Philippines

By now it was way past my grandson's bedtime. This was almost a red eye flight already and sure enough, a few moments after lift off he was in dreamland.

Finally, preparing for landing. I could see the night skyline of our city. Not yet as modern and industrialised as Manila as one might observe the fewer number of tall buildings and street lights.

AND, finally. Touchdown! Thank God for the safe flight.

Time check: 2:15 am. Yep. Definitely. Almost a red eye flight.
And that's it folks. I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a blessed weekend and may you all stay safe and healthy.
