Hello [email protected] are you doing right now..It's been a long time since my last posting here..Today I just want to share to you how grateful I am to be a teacher with my students teaching simple and basic gardening at home. I always instill in their minds the importance of home gardening and how powerful it is to sustain one's life.
I encourage each one of them to be resilient and be creative in nurturing their plants to enjoy fresh and healthy produce.

The project aims to teach students to be responsible in taking good care of the plants and to teach them sustainable urban gardening at home.
Before the start of the project I discussed to them to assess first their space at home as to where they're gonna set up their recycled containers or pots. They'll keep me updated with their project through sending pictures of before, during and after the planting.

Some of the students started planting using stalks of their chosen vegetables.Theyre choosing plants that's easy to grow varieties like leafy greens (spinach or kangkong and talbos ng kamote)
I'm encouraging them to use recycled plastics or unused empty bottles or what's available in their place.

And some of my students were comfortably planting seeds in a pots. They're planting variety of seeds of vegetables. I'm happy that they're eager to learn the way these seeds planted.

They're also learning how to do proper care by choosing the right kind of soil, plants can have easy access in sunlight and most importantly,to water it correctly and to apply natural fertilizer in their plants.

Others transformed their balconies and rooftops into a thriving urban garden. Some started growing bell peppers, tomatoes, eggplants and leafy greens with just their limited spaces at home.

First Day of doing the project, students were curious asking questions as to how they're plants were able to survive within just a little and limited space.

But within weeks of consistent caring of it, changes were seen and fresh sprouts of seeds, and stalk planted were visible and some flourished and grew on their pots.
Each of their parents were happy and enjoying seeing their daughters and sons learning about sustainability and food security.
This would be all for now and see you in my next blog journey..

Wow..that's great..
It's another way of maintaining plants...it's called hydrophonic po..gandang activity namn pla yan..
Wonderful project for your students. Teaching them about gardening and sustainability at a young age is very important. They are not only learning to grow plants but also how to care for nature and value healthy food.
@dreamrona yes sis..they must be taught in order to learn to survive with life..
It is wonderful to see the young ones learning how to be good gardeners to grow their own food.
@sunscape thanks for your kind comments...yeah in this trying tough times children must know how to plant in order to sustain and eat fresh veggies..
I wholeheartedly agree, sustainability is key going forward for the next generations.
Which of the plants you mentioned is the most resistant for someone like me who tends to forget to water?
@butterfly-jt9 maybe you can have the spinach or kangkong..it doesn't need so much care and attention unlike with the tomatoes and eggplant,it needs constant care and maintenance..
.
Thanks for your suggestion
