Camping Under the Open Sky in Punta Arenas

There are places you don’t just visit—you experience them—and that’s always the case when I go to Punta Arenas. It’s one of those gifts the island gives you: paradises like this where you can camp. It all began with one of those sunsets that look like they were hand-painted, where the sky lit up in shades of orange.
All night long, we were kept company by a tiny puppy, barely a month or two old, and its mother; they were like guardian angels. Although that beach is very quiet despite being home to fishermen, seeing them there, protecting us and letting us show them affection, added a unique touch of tenderness to the night. Punta Arenas has that unhurried, authentic rhythm. To admire the life of the town is to see the essence of Margarita: its fishermen preparing their nets with the wisdom of those who know every secret of the sea. A sea that, upon waking, welcomed us like a true natural pool—crystal-clear and completely calm—inviting us to start the day with the best energy, accompanied by the sun, birds, the sounds of the sea, and a fresh breeze.
We wrapped up that morning after enjoying a spectacularly delicious local breakfast at one of the local restaurants, savoring the flavors of our land with our feet touching the sand.

Without a doubt, it was one of those getaways that remain etched in the soul. 🏕️🌅

Una Acampada Bajo el Cielo de Punta Arenas

Hay lugares que no solo se visitan, se sienten, y así es siempre que voy a Punta Arena, es uno de esos regalos que te da la isla, paraisos como estos en los que puedes acampar. Todo comenzó con un atardecer de esos que parecen pintados a mano, donde el cielo se encendió en tonos naranjas.
Toda la noche tuvimos la compañía un pequeño cachorro de apenas uno o dos meses y su mamá, fueron como unos angeles guardianes, aunque esa playa es muy tranquila a pesar de que vive pescadores, pero verlos allí, protegiéndonos y dejándose querer, le dio un toque de ternura único a la noche. Punta Arenas tiene ese ritmo pausado y auténtico. Admirar la vida del pueblo es ver la esencia de Margarita: sus pescadores preparando las redes con la sabiduría de quien conoce cada secreto del mar. Un mar que, al despertar, nos recibió como una auténtica piscina natural, cristalina y en completa calma, invitándonos a empezar el día con la mejor energía, acompañado de sol, aves, sonidos del mar y una fresca brisa.
Cerramos esa mañana después de acampañar con un desayuno criollo espectacularmente rico en uno de los restaurantes locales, disfrutando del sabor de nuestra tierra con los pies tocando la arena.

Sin duda, fue una de esas escapadas que se quedan grabadas en el alma. 🏕️🌅
