This Is Why You Won’t Survive

“He’s not talking about me.”

Editor’s note – when I write “American” I mean the “average American.” What’s the average American? Average income, education, physical condition, medical status, attitude and experience. Base this on your demographic group.

The average American has never had to “survive” what these quasi-survival gurus are espousing in their diatribes. It’s just theory. Your humble scribe, may or may not have had to survive some shit for a few days – but I really don’t remember. It was another life – almost literally. Nonetheless, I’ve never had to survive what the doomsayers are predicting. Most of them don’t believe their own schpiel because if they did, they would be putting survival into practice. They would truly be preparing.

The overwhelming American ethos is about competitive consumption. That’s why everyone is “advising” everyone else to “stock up.” “Stock up culture” is one of the main reasons why you won’t survive.

One of the few books I’ve read that I didn’t follow up with watching the movie is “The Road.” There’s a seen when dude and his son happened upon a bunker, or fallout shelter that was “stocked up.” Who ever stocked it apparently didn’t make it, as evidenced by the stock. That was a powerful scene to your boy.

For the record, We – The Trinity – are dubious that “it” is going to get as bad as say, “One Second Later.” But if it does – the average American won’t survive. A good number of gun owners will probably shoot their families and then themselves. There are a dozen reasons and if you’ve ever read any biographical accounts of wars – courtesy of the USA – you may glean a few of them. No need to freak you out by listing them. You go freak yourself out if you really believe shit’s going to go down like the doomers do… be do – be do.

You can stop here – take the blue pill and stay in neverland. Or you can keep going. Don’t worry about taking the “red” pill.

By the way – the only reason I must actually write out – “THIS IS JUST MY OPINION” – is because, even when it’s obviously opinion, some people have to be told it’s just opinion. If you are one of them – you won’t survive. Survival requires a certain level of innate (in born) discernment and wisdom born of pain. If you are comfortably dogmatic upheaval will not be kind to you.

Stocking up on basic supplies is a good idea – however, it’s just as useful, if not more useful to learn how to make do with less. This way your supplies will last longer and you will also have more energy to defend your realm, or go out looting. If you think money is going to be any good, you’ve missed the Weimar lessons. If you think people won’t just take what they want or need in a state of lawless abandoned, then you don’t know the Anglo-Saxon ethos. Their history is replete with plunder and looting. Have a shopping cart parked around back, and make sure it doesn’t lock up on you when you leave the premises. That will end your trip real quick. Not that you’ll be arrested. But someone might snatch up your ill-gotten booty.

Drug Culture

I’ve been listening to these preppers for almost twenty years now. “Guns & gold.” “And stock up on your meds.”

Meds? America is so drugged that prescription meds is part of their survival strategy.

If you’re on meds. Your dead. The longer you’ve been on meds the quicker you will be dead. Because you will freak out – “What about my meds?” That will traumatize your system and that will enhance your chances of going into arrest on the spot.

If you sincerely believe Armageddon’s coming and it’s not just a two weeks to flatten the curve 12 month inconvenience, then you’d better find a way to get off of those meds.

Note for the “Just my opinion people” – this is NOT medical advice. There’s that one person in a thousand that survives the neo-holocaust just because she’s been stocking up on Milltown since the 1950s.

The heavier you are the less likely you are to survive. Over 400 … not even 50-50.
The average American male is nearly 200 pounds of mostly blubber. If you want to feel what it might be like in the end of days, start skipping meals. See how long you can last without DoorDash. On the bright side your body will start to detox and if you last three days, you will increase your chances of survival, as long as the marauding hoards don’t come for your – well – was gonna say tech, but that would be worthless in this scenario.

You will also have to be able to move – on your own, and maybe quickly. You must be ambulatory – able to walk on your own. You will never know when you’ll have to skedaddle from a bad situation, and how long that ske-dattling is going to take.

This is coming from experience. During the covid op, We packed a bag with H2O and trailmix and went out walking, just to see how far and how long we could walk. (No mask.)

Any kind of sustained emergency is going to require doing without. That’s the one element everyone seems to agree on. (They try to sell you the stuff you’re most likely to run out of. I’m surprise… oh wait – there are folks selling “survival” supplements.)

By now, you know – or at least have a hint of my background (especially if you watch the show.) I am not a man of means. Vagabond is an accurate description. We know how to do without, and we’ve learned some benefits thereof. When THEY say “less is more”, THEY are full of shit. Because for them it’s a sales pitch. When I say it, it’s because I’ve experienced it – and there’s nothing for sale. I don’t even want your Bitcoin.

So next time your favorite pod caster implies that you and your family won’t be (as) impacted by a national soviet-style economic collapse if you buy their affiliated product, add something else to your cart. Add some deprivation. Whatever you feel you “must” have (cigarette smokers and vapers) start tapering off. Otherwise you’ll find your self at someone’s mercy, even if it’s your own system.

In real life, however – you can do everything “right” and still not survive, or do everything “wrong” and survive anyway. Luck is indeed a superpower.

By the way – why did the guy take out his family and off himself?
