First Experience Traveling to Jakarta by Bus
Traveling by bus is my least favorite way to move around as I had a little traumatic experience traveling by bus and I would avoid it as much as I could. However, recently, I had my first experience traveling with a semi-comfortable type of bus. It runs from Yogyakarta to Jakarta with a few options. Much like a train, they offer a few services which start with economy to executive class. Think of it as having several tiers such as tier 1,2,3, and VIP.
This time around, I was traveling on the 2nd tier which offers a comfortable seating, adjustable and reclining chair with lunch service and snacks. The bus is also equipped with a toilet that you can use whenever you feel like during the journey.
Apparently, there are people who really love buses and have their own community. They prefer traveling by it rather than by train because of all the reasons they could think of. For me though, I am still the team train. It does not matter how hard someone convinces me to take a bus, I’d rather take the train.
The morning view from Yogyakarta to Jakarta during the morning schedule is quite pretty. Since the long distance bus has a higher deck, we could see the mountain and all the lush greenery pretty up close and in HD.
It was such lovely weather as well and I enjoyed my journey. These are some of the pictures I captured from my journey using the bus.
However, once we reached Jakarta, we were dropped off at a rather sketchy place ( this is the minus of using the bus). Although, there is a certain pool that isn’t sketchy and is convenient to order grab/taxi services to reach our home.
Somehow despite it all, actually I am curious about other types of bus including the VIP buses that run from Jakarta to Yogyakarta. Maybe when I have more energy, I would love to try other bus options but for now, nothing would change my mind about traveling by train.
During this trip to Jakarta, my schedule is still unclear but I’d love to check out the old town and share the story again here. Nowadays that I frequent the city, I am getting more and more places to discover.
But that’s about it and that’s my experience traveling to Jakarta using the bus as my first experience ever.

I have traveled by Greyhound bus a couple times, and by Amtrak train once. I agree with team train. I just wish the western US had more routes and regular schedules for rail. A century ago, it was everywhere. In a way, I blame the Federal Highway Administration for indirectly subsidizing the automobile industry and travel by building roads.
I didn't realize buses is still a thing in the U.S.😂 to me I always heard like car-only society. I've also heard Amtrak isn't the most practical options either. It'd be cool if there were more regular train routes & schedules. Over here, train runs pretty much 24hr.
Along the East Coast, there are regular commuter schedules. Here in my part of the west, you board at Spokane, Washington or Sandpoint, Idaho around midnight and that's it. There's just the one daily train at a bad time. Usage is too low to justify more trains, but the bad schedule keeps usage low. It's a catch-22, and the government doesn't want to bother trying to improve anything.
Greyhound is the biggest bus line, and they serve some communities not served by rail, while offering more frequent schedules here in the west as well. It is not ideal, but it is cheaper, and one can board in daylight.

Why do you love trains? As a person who's always riding a bus instead of a train... Hahaha
It's a lot more convenient to travel by train here because the stop is exact. It's also way faster than bus and if you're saving time. So, that's why I like traveling by train than bus
